How NOT to FAIL At Affiliate Marketing - Part I

When I first started out trying to make money as an affiliate marketer,
I failed miserably.I literally did everything wrong. And the hundreds of dollars
I wasted on useless eBooks, software, and pay-per-click ads… was pathetic.
I remember wishing I could find someone out there who would just show me what
to do in order to succeed at this… show me the strategies, tools and resources
that really work… and the products that would actually deliver what it
promised…
Well for me, that “someone” never came. I wound up being scammed by just
about every scammer out there. But gradually, through trial and error and lots
of blood, sweat and tears, I slowly began making money with my online business.
Today, I make a pretty decent living as a full-time Internet marketer. And I’ve
set up my free success-mentors.com blog, to help some of you avoid the
costly and painful mistakes many people make when trying to figure out how to
make money online with affiliate marketing.
This is Part-I of a four-part tutorial that I’ve put together to walk you, step-by-step
through the process of setting up your affiliate business to succeed, NOT fail.
BUT FIRST: Let me just be frank with you– to start an affiliate
business, a brick & mortar business, a franchise, or even a
lemonade stand– you’re going to have to spend some money.
If you’re trying to start an online affiliate business without investing in
the tools and resources you’ll need to succeed… you’re setting yourself
up for failure.
But don’t get me wrong, starting a successful Internet business shouldn’t cost
you an arm and a leg. But realistically, you will need to invest a few hundred
dollars to set-up, and market your affiliate business in a way that will quickly
begin generating a steady, reliable income.
So, here are the steps to follow in order to set yourself up for SUCCESS:

STEP 1. GET A DOMAIN NAME & WEB HOSTING SERVICE
I don’t care what you’ve heard or where you’ve heard it, trying to make money online
as an affiliate marketer without first setting up your own domain and website, is foolish
and short-sighted. I could give you a lengthy explanation of “why”, but we have far too
much yet to cover in order to get you up and running.
Suffice it to say that one advantage of having your own domain name, is if selected
properly, it can generate free, organic traffic from the search engines to
your website daily. In a moment, I’ll show you how to go about selecting a domain
name that will generate free traffic.
As for web hosting, there are so many advantages to setting up your own website with
the “right” hosting service that it’s almost impossible to address just one or two of
them here. But here’s a big one, with the right hosting service you’ll be able to set up
an unlimited number or Web 2.0 enabled blogs and attract a great deal of
free traffic to your site and your affiliate products. And, if handled correctly, it can
result in an ever-growing list of opt-in and rss feed subscribers, that you’ll be able to
keep in touch with and market similar products to again and again.
The other thing is, search engines love blogs and will index them as quick as a rabbit.
And if you tag and ping fresh blog content often, and create lots of good back-links
using easy linking strategies you’ll learn elsewhere on my blog– the search engine
spiders will just keep coming. Resulting in a rising page rank and even more free
traffic. To take full advantage of the Web 2.0 marketing strategies for
generating large amounts of free traffic, you need to be able to
self-host an unlimited number of Web 2.0 enabled blogs. This may
sound complicated but it’s not. We’ll show you step-by-step how to do this when
you get to that point.
